W. Mark Lanier says his client Carol Ernst couldn't stop crying when he told her about the 14th Court's opinion, and she told him she has lost faith in the judicial system. But Jonathan Skidmore, part of Merck's trial team in Ernst, says, "From day one, we felt there was no reliable scientific evidence that showed Mr. Ernst died due to any role that Vioxx played."
