• 5th Cir.
  • James E. Graves, Jr., Circuit Judge:
The appellant challenges an order of the district court directing the Bureau of Prisons to involuntarily administer psychiatric medicine to him for the purpose of restoring his competency to stand trial. In certain circumstances, the Constitution permits the government to involuntarily administer antipsychotic drugs to a mentally ill defendant facing serious criminal charges in order to render that defendant competent to stand trial. The district court's order is affirmed. 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, No. 12-50028, 01-11-2013.
