Texas Indigent Defense Commission Executive Director Jim Bethke says the agency will work in tandem with the Public Policy Research Institute at Texas A&M University on a weighted-caseload study next month to determine guidelines for maximum allowable caseloads for attorneys to represent indigent defendants effectively.
