Um, John Council, Ron Chapman here. We‘ve talked Dallas justice matters several times over my years as a Judge in Dallas County. I was elected as a Democrat to serve as Judge of the Criminal District Court of Dallas County in 1978, 1982, 1986, and 1990. Ann Richards appointed me to the Fifth District Court of Appeals at Dallas in 1991 and, in 1992, I was elected, as a Democrat, to a full six-year term on that Court. I retired as of January 1, 1999, and continued to serve as a Visiting Judge throughout the State of Texas until my "second" retirement on October 19, 2008, the date that marked the anniversary of my 30th year of service.
